For starters, this figure is absolutely GORGEOUS! They nailed the design perfectly, and her two heads both have excellent detail. Aside from the additional head, Emma comes with an spare pair of fist hands; the pair that comes on her is her psionic power hands. She doesn't come with any effects, unfortunately. I think it would have been cool to include some kind of mind-power accessory, or diamond sparkle piece maybe? I do have some critiques. Like with most female figures Hasbro makes, her articulation isn't all that great. Her elbows are only single jointed, although I have to admit there is a bit more bend to them than I expected with a single joint. There isn't too much ab crunch or swivel in the midriff area; her legs have the standard thigh cut and double jointed knees. Her feet are easily the highest heels I have ever seen on a figure, and they have a really hard time bending in any direction-- in fact, I'm pretty sure they don't go left-right at all, but I'm too afraid of breaking her to really push it and find out! We're talking about fairly petite parts here, especially at the ankles and wrists. Her outfit doesn't help her ability to move much either. Aside from the mega-heels, her cape gets in the way of her arms being able to move upwards in an way, really. It is a removable, but I can't imagine her looking any good without it. However, after messing around with her pose-ability for a while I discovered she can balance on the cape in certain positions, avoiding the issue with the heels. Those negatives aren't bad enough to overshadow how beautiful this figure still is. My absolute favorite part is her two heads: they're completely different! One has short hair and red lips on a stern face, the other has long wavy hair and a grey-blue smirk. I've heard there may have been specific intention by Hasbro for collectors to use the extra head on their older figure of Emma in her White Queen outfit. I guess fans weren't too fond of that face, so it's nice to think that one reason they included that head was to make up for it. Both heads look excellent on this figure, but I think I'm going to display her with the longer hair for now. And holy moly, she looks great with the set! In my collection, I have Magik, Nightcrawler, and Magneto. Although Magneto isn't the right costume, the version I have is the red and black suit, which looks stellar with the rest of the team's red and black. The Cyclops that goes with them is my absolute favorite version of him, but unfortunately he runs easily three times box price, and still twice the original price even out of the box by himself! Fingers crossed they'll release another storm with this version of her outfit as well, one of my favorites she's ever worn. In the end, even with her flaws, I'm still head over (extremely tall) heels for this figure! She looks incredible, with both heads! Now updated with Pictures! For anyone who's unfamiliar with this version of Emma Frost, she wore this outfit mostly during Brian Michael Bendis' run on Uncanny X-Men that ran from 2013 to 2015. It's a great run, and in my personal opinion has some of the best modern X-Men costume designs. HERE is a picture of the main team together in those costumes! As far as action figures for them go, Hasbro has given us this Illyana Rasputin/Magik, Scott Summers/Cyclops, Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, and now Emma Frost! There have been some really nice Storm releases in the past few years, but not in this specific suit; the same goes for Magneto. Charles Xavier was recently released with the 1990's chair and look, but to get this particular wheelchair, you'd have to track down the older ToyBiz version and take his. I'm really not a fan of the ToyBiz designs almost acorss the board, so you'll have to decide for yourself.
Have you found your Emma Frost yet? Do you have other thoughts on her design? Let me know! I'd love to hear your thoughts. Stay Sweaty!
